Holy Fire®, Empowering Reiki Energy
Holy Fire Reiki® is an energy that is empowering the traditional Usui and Karuna Reiki® introduced by the ICRT in 2014. It is both powerful and gentle. Holy Fire® is cleansing, releasing, healing, empowering, guiding and transforming. This energy empowers Usui Reiki I & II classes. Holy Fire® has also been added as a master symbol to the Reiki Master and Karuna Reiki® Master training. The energy is noticeably more refined and comes from a higher level of consciousness or vibration than any energy I have encountered before. It is also more effective – various techniques I commonly use to shift a person’s energy in sessions take less than half the time they took to do before Holy Fire®!

Holy Fire® II Reiki – 2016 Upgrade
Holy Fire® is an energy continually upgrading itself. In 2016 Holy Fire® II Reiki has further empowered the Reiki energy. Rejiu, or the connection to the Reiki energy that happens during classes, have shifted to what is called a placement in I & II classes or ignitions in master classes, rather than an attunement. These prepare your energy system in a more powerful, healing way to receive the ability to have this Universal, God-consciousness energy flow through you to others.
Holy Fire® III Reiki – 2018 Empowerment
The Holy Fire® III entered the scene in fall of 2018. This empowerment of the Reiki energy is focusing on releasing layers hiding our authentic self. It also invites us into higher levels of consciousness. Four ignitions are now received during the Master classes to facilitate this deeper level of healing.
Holy Fire® III Reiki – 2020 Empowerment
The pandemic prompted another upgrade of the the Holy Fire® III energy. This empowerment of the energy allowed for teaching Reiki online as an interactive class with technology such as Zoom. Class length and topics remain the same with recorded training on how to teach online available at www.reiki.org

The most recent upgrade of the Holy Fire® III energy is the World Peace empowerment. This energy helps individuals maintain an inner peace in this chaotic world. Some of the Holy Fire® attributes include:
- Works continuously even when not thinking about it and spontaneously heals issues as they come up.

- Spontaneously provides guidance that is palatable for every level of life experience.

The Holy Fire® energy is present in Reiki I & II in the form of Holy Love experiences and empowered placements or Reiju. An added benefit is the deep personal healing occurring in all classes. The Holy Fire® III qualities become more pronounced in the Master and Karuna® classes through the healing opportunities in the Holy Love experiences and four Holy Fire ignitions. The ignition and experience processes add a deeper personal healing than was present for me in the Master attunement process. Working with the Holy Fire energy also is an ongoing experience of growth and healing as well.

Another Step in the Evolution of Reiki
Holy Fire® Reiki has been part of huge shifts and transformations for me! Now I am working with individuals like you who want to say YES to positive changes in their health and well being. These shifts can happen in any area of your life – physically, emotionally, mentally (attitudes/beliefs) or spiritually – with more grace and ease with Holy Fire Reiki.
All this after releasing my “on call” clinical pharmacist position at St Charles to embrace my passion of teaching and practicing Reiki. I had no idea at that point that Reiki was also going to evolve in 2014 through Holy Fire® nor the opportunity I would be given to join this whirlwind of energy in April.
The use of the word “holy” in the name Holy Fire® is not religious in meaning. The word holy has as its root meaning to be whole, complete, healed and this is how it is used in Holy Fire. Holy Fire® Reiki is powerful yet gentle spiritual energy that creates wholeness through purification, healing, empowerment and guidance to clients and especially practitioners. My first introduction to the Holy Fire® energy was in the informal atmosphere of the February 2013 ICRT Licensed Reiki Master Teacher (LRMT) retreat with William Rand – before he had a name for it or an inkling that he would be teaching it. William said he had a new energy he wanted to introduce us to – he started with a guided meditation and then said, “and now Jesus is going to attune each of us” – a surprise to him and us! It was especially interesting because many of us had Jesus as a guide and have struggled with the Christian religion for various reasons.
My struggles never caused me to leave the Lutheran and now Presbyterian church. I was blessed with pastors who encouraged questions, and focused on the love and grace of the Divine. And I am not the typical member in the pew because of my strong mystical tendency. A mystic is defined as someone looking for a “direct connection or experience with the Divine.” For me this is something that is facilitated by Reiki, meditation or prayer and the labyrinth.
My first meditation experiences were through a Thich Nhat Hahn CD set a friend loaned me. Later I was introduced to centering or contemplative prayer – a centuries old Christian practice very similar to Eastern meditation. The Latin word for meditation means “to go to center,” so the labyrinth is a walking meditation. And Reiki is a healing meditation for me – a focus of stepping out of the way to be a clear channel for this energy to flow from Source through practitioner to client.
Back to my struggles with the church. I am challenged by: the patriarchal language; the way the Bible is used by some to condemn and judge others; the stories I hear from other spiritual women and how they have been deeply wounded by “the church”; the image of God as an old man with a beard up in heaven; black and white beliefs that exclude people from the grace and love of God. For me Jesus’ message of grace is to love and forgive one another as we are loved and forgiven by the Divine, not to judge one another. The Holy Fire® energy is helping heal these issues and more in my life.
And now finishing the LRMT retreat story. This was a powerful experience for me – complete with “glory bumps”, warmth and muscular jerking as healing energy flowed through my body on and off for 30 minutes. Each of us had a profound experience – to be honest, I don’t remember the details of what mine was, other than I burst into deep, heartfelt tears of awe and gratitude when I tried speaking about it.
What an amazing heart opening experience – most likely from what we now call the Holy Love being installed into my heart. Holy Love is a completely accepting or unconditional love from the Divine, by whatever name you prefer to use. This love enhances and heals your love of self as well as envelops you in Divine unconditional love, allowing you to learn and experience this at deeper and deeper levels.
I forgot about this part of the LRMT retreat until I heard from William Rand in an email in April 2014 about Holy Fire® Reiki. He and several of the other Senior Mentor ICRT teachers had been initiated with and started using the Holy Fire starting in late January/February 2014 as an experiment to explore the energy and get feedback from students. All ICRT Licensed teachers were offered the option of a weekly webinar series as well as a chance to take a Holy Fire® ART/Master or Karuna® Master class if they wanted to shift to teaching Holy Fire. I said YES – the answer to many Reiki questions, try it and see what your experience is – so I opted in to do both!
I am so happy that I did! The Holy Fire® energy has empowered the Usui and Karuna® Reiki energies and my practice and teaching of Reiki. The 2016 upgrade and 2018 empowerment have been wonderful. I am grateful the energy continues to evolve within me too.
