Reiki is a powerful yet gentle healing energy that is wonderful for self-care as well as to share with friends, family and others. It flows from Source (God, the universe, etc) through the practitioner. The word Reiki is made up of two kanji characters in Japanese. “Rei” (pronounced ray) means universal, higher knowledge, or spiritual or God consciousness. Life energy is the most common meaning of “Ki” (pronounced key). Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation which promotes healing by working with the “ki” to help restore balance and flow to the energy system of the person. Since this technique is spiritually guided life energy, it is always working in the best interest of the person receiving it. This energy works well to a complement and to enhance the affects of other traditional and non-traditional healing methods. Another wonderful quality of Reiki is the practitioner is not exhausted by giving a session. This energy is a strong yet gentle and does not require any specific religious beliefs.
Reiki has been used:
- to decrease the time it takes to heal from surgery and injuries,
- to diminish the side effects from chemotherapy,
- to help establish a change to desirable habits,
- to function as energetic “first aid”,
- to empower goals & athletic performance,
- to calm anxious and upset feelings, and
- to generally transform dis-ease into health and well-being for mind, body & spirit.
Learning to work with Usui/ Holy Fire Reiki® is something anyone can learn. For me it feels like having “liquid love & light” flowing through my hands to bless the person I am sharing this energy with for their highest good. Classes are divided into several levels and usually taught in a 2 or 3 day intensive weekend class. Please click on the links below for more information about the individual classes.
- Reiki I & II – entry level classes
- Advanced Reiki Training (ART) & Reiki Master/Teacher – for those practicing for 6 months or more at the Reiki II level
- Karuna I, II & Reiki Master -for those practicing for 6 months or more at the Master level
Classes are designed for adult learners or mature teens. Each class builds on the previous class and is taken in the order listed. In addition, I also offer Sekhem-Seichim Reiki Facets I – VII (through the Master level) certification to other Reiki Master practitioners. This course may be taken by Reiki Masters who are using the energy daily and are very comfortable with the Usui symbols. This is not an ICRT associated class and no continuing education credits are available.
I have been teaching Reiki since 2001. I have completed additional training and am a Senior Licensed Reiki Master Teacher (one of 30 in the world) through the International Center for Reiki Training. I also mentor student teachers who are going through the ICRT Licensed Teacher program. See Class Registration page for quick and easy signup.
As a Senior Licensed Reiki Master Teacher with the International Center for Reiki Training I provide nationally certified continuing education hours for all the above classes for nurses, massage therapists & body workers, social workers, and marriage & family therapists. This documentation is also accepted by other licensing boards on an individual basis.
My usual teaching sites are in Bend, OR, and Bismarck & West Fargo, ND. I have also taught in Montana, Washington & Idaho. I am interested in expanding into Minnesota in the future. Classes in other areas that are not on my current schedule can be arranged with at least 8-10 students. Please contact Robin to discuss this possibility.

I support my students, volunteers at St Charles Cancer Center and volunteers at First Presbyterian Church through a monthly Reiki Share in Bend, OR. This is an evening to gather, talk, & practice with other students of Reiki – from 6pm to 830pm, usually on the third Monday of the month. You as a practitioner have a chance to receive Reiki, which is important for self-care. Please RSVP so I know how many people to expect – thank you!
2016 Reiki Share Dates: Nov 14th (2nd Monday), Dec 12th (2nd Monday).
2017 Reiki Share Dates: Jan 9 (2nd Monday), Feb 13 (2nd Monday), March 20 (3rd Monday), April 17 (3rd Monday).
The suggested donation is $10 for the evening which goes to my “Pay It Forward” program. After any fee for the space used is taken care of, I then match the remaining amount and provide assistance to people in need of Reiki with very limited ability to pay. Your donations of $300 plus my match and donations in 2015 provided over $600 of Reiki assistance to those in financial need!
I also volunteer at First Presbyterian Church, supporting their Reiki Prayer Ministry group meetings monthly as a volunteer mentor and serving as a substitute practioner. FPC’s has completed the upgrade to the labyrinth behind their building. I am helping to plan activities around its use on the labyrinth team. I am serving as a volunteer substitute practitioner providing free Reiki sessions to people with cancer at St Charles Medical Center.

Reiki sessions are available through Healing Journey Options. In contrast to massage, Reiki is a healing energy work done with the client fully clothed. Initially a health history is completed by the client and a release form is signed. Reiki works well in combination with other traditional and complimentary health methods and is not a substitute for medical or psychological care. The energy focuses on relaxing and promoting the health of the whole person – body, mind, and spirit. More on Reiki Sessions… sessions are by appointment only. Please contact me to schedule an appointment. Sessions may also be given and received at a distance. Once scheduled, you can use PayPal to pre-pay for your session.
We will explore the 7 chakras in a weekend format – Saturday from 9am to 6pm and Sunday 1pm to 6pm. A variety of experiential techniques will be used to open, clear and balance the chakras, including Reiki, sound, movement, mandalas and meditation for personal healing.
