Bend, Oregon

Bend is the major city in beautiful Central Oregon, with a population of about 80,000 people. The city covers 32 square miles. To the east is high desert vegetation and to the west, Bend is surrounded by U.S. Forest Service land, mountains and lakes. The city is noted for its scenic setting, mild climate, and year-round recreation opportunities. At an elevation of 3,625 feet, Bend enjoys the predominately dry climate of this high mountain desert basin. Sunny days, cool nights and low humidity characterize the weather.   The recreational opportunities offer residents and visitors year-round activities including premier skiing, golfing, fly fishing, hiking, biking, kayaking, festivals and more. Here is a link to William Rand’s 2015 presentation on “The Future of Reiki” http://www.reiki.org/Download/ReikiVideos.html. William will base his idea about the trend Reiki will take in the future by first describing an evidenced based history of Reiki. This will include a synopsis of how Usui Sensei, Hayashi Sensei, and Takata Sensei practiced and taught Reiki. He will also be talking about the essence of Reiki and how Reiki can be a spiritual practice. He will then explain the direction he thinks the practice of Reiki will take in the future. This is a content rich talk that includes many important details and concepts. Recorded via Skype from Michigan for the 2015 Australian Reiki Connection Conference.
